Swansea Summer Ball 2016
Hello everyone,
This year marks the 11th Anniversary of the Summer Ball at Swansea University. It is a way of celebrating the end of another amazing academic year here at Swansea University with this annual sell-out event.
It is taking place on 13th June on the Abbey Meadow on the Singleton Campus. This event will host 5000 students over 6 arenas.
These 6 arenas include:
Ben Rees Stage.
In memory of Ben Rees, who was not only an important part of the Students’ Union Events department, he was a talented DJ and a sorely missed man within the Swansea community. Therefore Swansea University Students’ Union are hosting a huge part in his honour. This will include a fully decorated container stage, a giant stretch tent and support from the best DJs from Swansea’s favourite and biggest brands including Sink, Sin Savers, Tooters, Faux Pas, The Lighthouse Project, Rise in addition to a headliner or maybe two….
Enchanted Forest
This is the main stage which will reside between the trees, deep in the enchanted forest. This is billed as the main attraction and will showcase the best and brightest musical talent from all over.
The Treehouse
This stage will showcase the best of local musical talent from bands to solo artists. This stage is sure to keep you entertained throughout the day. Garb a cocktail from the Alchemy Station, and then… when the sun goes down… DJs from Hustle will encourage you to break out the disco mat and finish off the night in style.
The Meadow
This is the more chilled out of the arenas. If you need some time out to grab some food and drink head over here. There will be everything you need to quench your thirst and fill your stomachs including some delicious new cuisines.
Artists and Acts
Swansea are hosting a number of acts to cater for a variety of tastes, these include but are not limited to; two time BRIT nominee Sigma, two time BRIT Award and three time MOBO Award winner Ms Dynamite, Welsh singer/ songwriter Al Lewis (winner of the Best Male aware for two years in a row at the BBC Radio Cymru Awards and The Midweek Revival who originated from Swansea.
