Sorry this post is a bit late but I have just recently come back off of holiday. I was trying to think of a topic to discuss in this post and thought it would be fitting to write a little something about the referendum and it’s possible aftermath.
I know the University has already issued a statement via email and on the university website, the link to this is included below:
I personally was very disappointed in the result of last week’s referendum and I know this topic has been divisive amongst the academic, student and wider community. On many social media platforms there have been heated debates and arguments. But the results are in and I know it has sparked fears about the future of the UK, however it is far too early to speculate and what we should be doing is uniting and tackling the future together. Instead of becoming divided by who voted for what we should instead respect the choice of others and accept that the UK leaving the EU is a consequence of a democratic process.
Many experts are saying that it is far too early to know what the future holds for us, this is unsettling but we must band together and look to the future. The University underastands that there may be some concerns from our overseas students but there are things in place to support our students. If you have any concerns it would be best for you to contact someone in the University for support and more information.
Thanks for reading.
