Technology and Social Media in Italy: Welcome to Forlì! (LingoMap Vlog)

Ciao a tutti e benvenuti al secondo vlog sul mio anno all’estero, che si concentra sulla Tecnologia e i Social Media!

It was a sad moment for me leaving Granada, something I hadn’t expected as for the majority of the time I was there all I could think about was getting back home. I guess that’s a case of make the most of what you’ve got or you’ll regret it, if that’s even a saying. After a few weeks to relax at home I have now made the move to my second country, Italy!

Come posso paragonare l’Italia e la Spagna? Il posto in cui vivo è certamente molto diverso: qui, abito in una cittadina del nord Italia chiamata Forlì, vicino a Bologna. Secondo me, Forlì è molto simile al paesino in cui abito in Gran Bretagna, ed è molto diversa da Granada, una città studentesca con molta vita. Qui a Forlì c’è più calma ma anche qui ci sono possibilità per divertirsi.

I was far less nervous coming to Forlì than to Granada, although thinking about it that was probably due to having already been to Granada and having gone through the fear of starting a new life in a different country. Nevertheless it was still a baptism of fire; the weather was horrific, I couldn’t really speak the language and, of course, I missed home. However, I have been able to meet and get to know a lot more people here than in Granada, and this without doubt has been a massive bonus! At no point in Granada could I say that I had friends as good as these ones, and this has been a huge help in adjusting to my new life.

Spero che questo vlog possa essere utile agli studenti che lo leggeranno – devo dire che ero un po’ malato quando stavo filmando, quindi se vi sembro un po’ stanco, questa è la ragione. Riguardo al tema del mio vlog, la tecnologia è particolarmente vicina al mio cuore perché come studente di traduzione la uso molto e ho forti opinioni su questo tema. I social media sono un argomento un po’ ovvio, ma spero che quello che ho da dire possa essere utile a tutti quelli che vogliono andare in Spagna o in Italia.
Insomma, questo è tutto…. Spero che vi divertiate e spero di vedervi presto nel mio prossimo vlog.
