Hello everyone,
I thought for this post I would give a little information about the Employability Week which will be happening from Monday. The Swansea Employability Academy will be hosting a variety of events and workshops that will cover a wide array of topics to help you develop your employability explore possible career routes and options and make successful applications.
Events will be taking place over both Campuses and is open to all students. You have to register/ login to book your place to attend events through an online booking system, which can be access through the following link: http://swansea.prospects.ac.uk/index.html
I’ll go through some of the events that are on offer but if you would like some more information then click on the link below:

What looks to be a helpful talk, especially if you’re approaching the end of your degree and are unsure about what sort of career you want to venture into… there is a workshop on Tuesday 26th January 2016 between 10.00am -11.00am titled ‘What next after my degree’. This session will help you consider your options and enable you to start to plan your next steps towards your goals. This is taking place on the Bay Campus and could prove to be a really helpful talk to attend.
Another useful talk is happening on the 27th January on the Singleton Campus. This session is called ‘How to find a graduate job’. If you are thinking of searching for jobs after graduation but are not sure where to look or when to start applying then this workshop could be really helpful for you, as it will help you get a clearer picture of where to look for vacancies, timescales and how to develop an action plan.
I also wanted to mention the PwC Pitch Competition, which includes a £200 prize. PwC have returned to Swansea to run a competition that is open to all students of ALL disciplines.
You will be required to make a presentation to PwC, and will need to book a 30 minute appointment (this includes 15 minutes for the presentation and 5 minutes for questions followed by feedback). The presentation topic this year is ‘The Changing World of Business”. If you feel that this is for you then you should book an appointment through the online booking system. Once you have logged in you should:
Select events
Select events calendar
Select date of event (26th January)
Select “PwC Pitch Competition”- The Changing world of business
Book
Good luck if you decide to enter. And if you are unsure about the future or just want a bit of advice then there is probably something for you next week, so take advantage of this opportunity.
