Botanics in Bloom

Hello everyone,

I hope you are enjoying the summer (despite the uncertain weather!)

This post will be a short one as it has been a busy couple of weeks for me and it looks as though this will continue for me until the end of August. I may go into more detail in another post.

But for this post I wanted to tell you guys about the Botanics in Bloom event happening throughout August in Singleton Park.
The Botanical Gardens House in Singleton Park houses one of Wales’ premier plant collections, featuring large glasshouses and herbaceous borders.

This month long event takes place over the month of August with events happening every Sunday. This event is free and is a chance to enjoy the gardens in the height of their bloom and beauty, as well as enjoying a full programme of events.

The programme of events includes but is not limited to

U3A Ukulele Band- Sunday 7th August, 3.00pm -5.00pm

Local Musicians Covers Band- Sunday 21st August, 3.00pm- 5.00pm

Swansea Accordion Orchestra- Sunday 28th August, 3.00om-5.00pm

There are also some guided walks throughout the Botanical Gardens every Wednesday and Saturday in August at 2pm. Tickets cost £2.50 but children can attend free of charge.

There are also lots of games and activities for children occurring throughout August. Admission is free but the activities are weather dependent.

This is a good chance to really appreciate the beauty that Swansea has. Fingers crossed that the weather improves to allow us all to enjoy it!
