BSc Social Policy
I'm Catrin, and I'm a third year Social Policy student. I'm currently writing a dissertation on the implications for social policy on grandparent carers, but when I'm not doing that, I can usually be found in one of campus' coffee shops or in the office of the university newspaper, The Waterfront. I'm also President of the Human and Health Association, a society for all students in the College of Human and Health Sciences.

BSc Psychology
Hi, I'm Chloe and I’m 19. Before I moved to Swansea I lived in a small village about 40 minutes from Cardiff. I'm a first year Psychology student in Swansea University. I love this University; I'm having an amazing time here and couldn't be happier with my course. Swansea is such an amazing place to live as well. My blog will be about my experience here on my course and University life in general.

MA Developmental and Therapeutic Play
Hi! I'm Craig and I'm a postgraduate student on the MA Developmental and Therapeutic Play course in Swansea University. I graduated this year with a 2:1 in BSc Early Childhood Studies at Swansea University. Aside from my education, I am a very enthusiastic choral singer and have been a member of the Swansea University Choral Society for the three years I've been a student here, so this will be my 4th consecutive year singing with the society. I also started a radio show with Xtreme Radio this year with my two best friends, Alex and Wil. We are The Three Musketeers! All for one... AND ONE FOR ALL!!! Hopefully, my musings in this blog will give a little look into the massive world that is Swansea University!

BSc Psychology
Hi, I'm Jo, and I have studied Psychology at Swansea for two years. I am currently taking part in an exchange year at one of Swansea's partner Universities in Mannheim, Germany. When I have completed my time here, I will be back in Swansea to complete the final year of my degree.

Before moving to Swansea, I lived in Surrey for the first twenty years of my life. I have really enjoyed my time in Swansea so far, and though I am having a great time in Germany, I am also looking forward to going back!

My blog will give an insight into people wondering what it is like to study in Germany and also Swansea, potentially to help decide whether to study abroad.

BSc Medical Sciences and Humanities
Hi, I’m Laura, and I am a second year Medical Science and Humanities (MeSH) student. In addition to this, I am also the (acting) secretary of the Human and Health Association, as well as the University’s Students With Caring Responsibilities Officer.

Before studying at Swansea University, I was studying through the Open University. I chose MeSH in order to obtain a degree that will help me pursue a career in medicine. While not studying, I volunteer both remotely and in-person and I am also a student parent.

My blog will give an insight to people who want to know what life as a MeSH student is like, and will hopefully help parents who are considering studying at Swansea University see that juggling a busy student lifestyle is possible.

BMid Midwifery
My name is Lindsay Skyrme and I am a student midwife based at Swansea University. I live in Mumbles with my partner, our three year-old daughter and an ill-disciplined dog. I wish that I could offer up a list of fascinating hobbies, but opportunity to be leisurely is rare these days. I love beaches, hot weather, Beethoven and sleeping. I am averse to balloons, fireworks, parties and the Daily Mail.

It goes without saying that I am passionate about midwifery and all things related – in particular the politics of motherhood and breastfeeding. I like to read and write, to debate, to challenge ideas and in turn to have my opinions challenged. If I had to design a t-shirt with a motto suited for me it would read 'Question Everything'.

I look forward to sharing with you my experiences and reflections on student life at Swansea.

BMid Midwifery
My name is Lisa. I am a thirty something Midwifery student studying at Swansea University. I am currently on the second year of the three year Midwifery degree. This is my second degree, my first was in Business Studies. After graduating I worked in a Marketing role within many different industries before deciding that I needed to fulfil the dream I had always had since a child and become a Midwife. So one long application form and a stressful interview later and here I am!

I live in the Swansea area with my husband and our son which I guess makes me a little different to your stereotypical student. I manage my time between university study, work placements and my family (and sometimes "me" time) – which can at times be very stressful!!! But I guess that will make for an interesting blog! I look forward to "chatting" with you…

MA Ageing Studies
Hi, I'm Monica. I am originally from the United States; I grew up in Illinois and attended the University of Iowa as an undergraduate, where I studied English, creative writing, social work, and ageing studies. Now I'm living in Carmarthen while I pursue my master's degree in ageing studies at Swansea.

My interests in ageing studies include dementia care and intergenerational programmes, and I hope to pursue a career in social service provision for older adults. I hope my blog can be a resource for fellow internationals considering pursuing their masters at Swansea University, as I'll be writing about my experiences in the program and at the University, as well as my overall experience as an international student living in Wales.
